The philosophy at ZP has always been the translation and the commercialization of academic science and this remains part of ZP’s DNA; the direction of travel within ZP over the last ten years has been to reduce the barriers between lab experiments and technology that can operate in the real world and create impact.
ZP’s Academic Impact philosophy has now been distilled into our new SenseItAll – Potentiostat.
On this document we describe the SenseItAll Potentiostat and the placement of the technology within the academic setting from undergraduate education, research, translation/impact and commercialization.
EDUCATION
Zimmer and Peacock are providing education packs of SIA Potentiostats consisting of: SIA Potentiostats, carbon screen printed electrodes, Djuli Cloud Management System, onsite training, reagents, teaching lab protocols.
Please note that the pack comes with: 10 x SenseItAll Potentiostat , one thousand screen printed electrodes, access to the Djuli online database, reagents and teaching lab protocols.
The lab protocols are intended for undergraduate teaching and cover cyclic voltammetry and amperometry using ferricyanide and capsaicin.
RESEARCH
The SIA Potentiostat spans from Education into Research as the instrument can run all the standard electro-analytical methods: amperometry, open circuit potentiometry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, linear sweep voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry.
ACADEMIC IMPACT
One metric for Academic Impact is to demonstrate that the electroanalytical system developed in Academic Research were field deployable and so the SIA Potentiostat’s ability to have a user interface that allows the complexity of the electroanalytical method to be reduced to a simple non-technical interface allows the research to be deployed into the field. ZP has partially demonstrated this by having a series of electrochemical sensors/biosensors and assays already deployed. Assays and sensors that ZP has integrated into the SIA potentiostat and that demonstrate that a single instrument transitions from Research to Applications, includes: chilli, ginger, nitrate, pH, TAS/TAC, glucose and potassium.
