At ZP we are focused on supporting academics, entrepreneurs and businesses both research, develop and commercialise. On this page we demonstrate how our mass produced screen printed electrodes adhere to the theoretical expectation.
In the adjacent images we show data collected over 20 screen printed carbon electrodes (SPCE), the absolute values at 10 mV/s demonstrate the closeness of the electrode performance to theory, which is a testiment to the manufacturing of rigour at ZP, but also the error bars in the adjacent table show the reproducibility of the data and therefore the underlying electrodes.
At ZP we say that repeatability of SPCE is actually more important than alignment to theory, we say this as that to make a product that can be used in real applications it is important to have electrode reproducibility as this can lead to products in the field that are callibration free.
CALIBRATION FREE
At ZP we have both good alignment with theoretical expectations, but we would argue excellent repeatability of manufacture in the SPCE that we sell through our webstore, this means faster data collection by our academic colleagues as there is less time dealing with irreproducible electrodes and therefore irreproducible experiments, and for the commercial development community they can benefit from faster development and also build products that don’t require calibration in the field. When an electrochemical assay product requires calibration in the field this often indicates an underlying manufacturing irreproducibility of the SPCE.
